Our Trip to Ferrymead

We had a wonderful trip to Ferrymead today. The rain had stopped, the ground dried out and we even saw some sun! The children rotated around 4 activities. 1. Heritage games 2. The school house 3. The bakery 4. Housework. The children all participated in the activities at each place. They had some great questions and answers and really enjoyed themselves. This trip has answered many of the children's questions about the early 1900's and our inquiry topic Change is Good. Thank you to the wonderful parents who came and helped on the trip - you were great!

Cross country

On Wednesday 28 April we had the St Albans School cross country. The children all tried their hardest and it was great to see them enjoying themselves and cheering for their friends.

Making Hot Cross Buns

We made hot cross buns together. The children took the photos themselves and they narrated the i movie.

Tryathlon

On Tuesday 2nd March we had the St Albans School tryathlon. We all biked and ran and then we went for a swim. After that we ran to the finish line. We were all proud of ourselves! We can't wait for the tryathlon next year!

Swimming

Yahoo! The pool is heated. We have been swimming 4 or 5 times each week. We are in swimming groups. Sometimes Mrs Simmons and Mrs Toohey swim with us. We are learning to put our heads under water, pick up objects from the bottom of the pool, float on our front and back and swim.
