Cricket coaching

Today we were lucky to have some cricketers come to school and coach our class. We had to keep our eyes on the ball, hold our hands like a cup and spread our fingers out. If we could catch the ball 10 times without dropping the ball then we had to throw the ball and see how many times we could clap before we caught the ball. Jamie caught a really high throw that one of the cricketers did.

We had a game of cricket. Some children were in the field and others batted. We all had a turn fielding and batting.

All children received a goody bag - yippee!

Happy Father's Day to all the Room 15 Dads. We hope you all have a great day!

Clay art

At discovery time today some children made clay tiles. Instead of the flat clay tiles that we made last term, some children decided to made 3D tiles. We are loving making korus at the moment. Check out these great art works!

Poetry competition

Koru

We are learning to understand the meanings behind significant Maori symbols, in particular, the koru. We looked at these Maori symbols and their meanings. Then we sketched pictures, which were motivated by photos and Mrs Brown's bone carvings.
