Welcome to class!
What a busy day we have had at school today. We talked about how we felt about our first day at school (using the red hat) and here are some of the responses:
I felt - excited, brilliant, sad, happy, nervous, cranky, jealous.
Why - because I am back at school, I like school, I like to have fun with my friends, I like to learn, I love Mrs Simmons, I miss Mum, I like the frog, I like to play on the monkey bars, I miss my sister, I got woken up by Mum, We have a pet frog, I like my new class, I like my new teacher, I get to see my friends, I can make some friends, I like school it is awesome, I feel scared and nervous, I had a good holiday.
Let's have another great day tomorrow.

Christmas in Room 3
Christmas has come early to Room 3. Mrs Simmons's Mum made us a beautiful quilt. We will display Christmas work around the quilt. We have written letters to Father Christmas and are eagerly awaiting his reply. You are welcome to look in your child's writing book to read a draft copy of their letter. Ashley's family have kindly loaned us a wonderful Christmas tree and have donated Christmas decorations to us - thanks very much!

Reading in Japanese

We were very lucky to have Masayo (Sakura's Mum) visit today and read us a story in Japanese. The children were quick to notice that she started to read the book from the back and that the writing went downwards. The children guessed that the story was The Three Little Pigs. Thanks Masayo for reading to us!
